Google Adwords and solid internet article content analysis brings the shocking conclusions - YouTube despite its extreme popularity among internet users, while improving, still had negative profits in most of 2009 and years before. Popular YouTube with 650 000 000 searches monthly average or 21 666 667 searches per day according to Google Adwords still was earning negative profits in most of 2009.

In July, 2009 Google said YouTube revenues were increasing steadily, and that the site was moving towards profitability in the near future.

The examples show, however, that often a high popularity of a website or web resource still is not sufficient to turn it into a good business or profitable business for quite a long time.

There are quite a few popular resources, websites or software that do not earn sufficient profits for years. YouTube is just one of those. There are different long-term and short-term emarketing, SEM and SEO strategies and investment plans for website businesses and internet businesses. Some long-term emarketing strategies and SEM and SEO strategies plan earning profits only in a few years after a start-up. However, sometimes popular, but not profitable web sites, resources or social networks serve  just as a signal for website owners: a key to success and earning money from a website is not only its popularity, but also a targeted emarket where your web resource or website plans to be popular, careful  emarket analysis before starting a web business and a proper emarketing strategy.

Often a proper tactics on how you are going to turn your website or social network to earn money is much important than strategies written on papers. For example, website design, website usability and website e-merchandising matters a lot. Even particular pictures, especially your product pictures do matter a lot to help you start earning money from your website or web resource sooner.

I have met lots of websites and resources that are popular, but look as if they are designed 10 years ago. Despite their popularity no one places their ads there on paid basis or buys anything from there. Has anyone seen paid ads on one of the most popular DMOZ? There are exceptions though, but I am analyzing general website look & profits trends, not exceptions.

Website design can play a substantial role in affecting web visitors to finally decide to purchase from the site. However, I am not arguing that it is the only and sufficient answer to success in earning money from a website. There are also websites that look nice and attractive, but no one actually visits them. For years. What is the problem in them? If you order a nice website and buy a web hosting for it, it does not mean millions of internet users start to know about your newly appeared great website! Adding your new website to Internet without Emarketing, SEM or SEO is like you add a new chapter to an existing book without placing a page number and chapters' title into the book contents! That is what EMarketing serves for websites, as professional website managers know. EMarketing's goal is to make internet users know about your website in internet, and mainy those internet users who will likely to purchase what you offer on your website, i.e. -- your targeted internet users.

EMarketing includes:

- Search Engine Optimization to help your site to appear in top pages of search engine results by optimizing content of the website for keywords relating to your main products or services you sell via your website,

- Search Engine Marketing to help your targeted emarket internet users who are potential buyers to know about your new business website and products it offers,

- Proper Website Design with your greatest product pictures you have,

- Proper Website E-Merchandising and Usability, --

to name a few.

While even small businesses understand importance of SEO to get their websites higher in Search Engine ratings and Search Engine results, understanding of their own business E-market and Targeted E-market is often underestimated by small and even large businesses.

The website E-merchandising and Usability are paid even less attention. However, the Google Website Optimizer and its tutorial emphasize clearly all these aspects I mentioned here to get your website High Quality Optimized. To turn your website into a profitable business! Several recent studies have shown: It takes just 1 to 2 seconds for an internet user to decide to stay on the website. It means that proper E-merchandising expert will locate your key information and pictures on the website right to grab the attention of the internet users, brought to your website by SEO experts and SEM consultants.
